New HiTechnic Force Sensor Perfect for FTC Ring It Up!This year's FTC Ring It Up! challenge includes weighted rings that if placed on the corner goals give your alliance a huge multiplier bonus. The new HiTechnic Force Sensor measures the force that is applied to an axle pressing into the sensor. By designing your robot so that the weight of the ring provides this force you can then determine which of the rings are weighted. The Force Sensor will be available early October. New to FTC? New teams should also consider purchasing the IR Beacon and IRSeeker V2 which are used during the autonomous period of the game. |

HiTechnic Barometric SensorTrack your environment with the new HiTechnic Barometric Sensor. Create a weather station or program your own aircraft style altimeter with the HiTechnic Barometric Sensor. The Barometric Sensor is a sensitive barometer that measures atmospheric pressure as well as air temperature. The extended features of the Barometric Sensor NXT-G programming block, available on the HiTechnic Downloads page, make it easy to develop your own programs to display and track changes in barometric pressure, temperature and altitude. Use the NXT to data log the elevation as you take a car ride and create a profile showing the hills and valleys along your journey. The Altimeter program looks like a real aircraft altimeter displaying the current altitude. Get the current altimeter setting of your nearest airport from an online aviation weather website and enter it as your altimeter setting. This NXT screen display shows an altitude of 1,810 feet and an altimeter setting of 29.94 inches of mercury. For more details visit the Barometric Sensor product page or the blog post on the Altimeter program. |
