FAQ

Q. When I connect the HiTechnic Compass to the NXT and use the "View" option it always returns a value of 253. Why is the compass not working?
A. The HiTechnic Compass Sensor requires the NXT to be loaded with Firmware version 1.03 or later.  To checked the firmware version loaded in the NXT, switch the NXT on and using the buttons select Settings > NXT Version.  The Firmware version will be displayed on the first line.  If the Firmware version is not 1.03 or later, it must be updated.  For details on updating the firmware see the Mindstorms help.

Q. Are the HiTechnic NXT sensors compatible with ROBOLAB 2.9 software?
A.  Yes, ROBOLAB 2.9 supports all HiTechnic NXT sensors.

Q.  The Compass sensor is listed on the LEGO web site and on your web site.  Are they the same or is there a difference?
A.  Sensors listed on both sites are exactly the same.

Q. I purchased the Compass sensor from the LEGO web site and want to install the Compass Sensor Block for Mindstorms Software.  Where can I get the software.
A.  Software progamming blocks for all the released HiTechnic sensors can be downloaded from our web site Downloads page.

Q. I would like to order some HiTechnic sensors and would like to know if you ship to New Zealand?
A. Yes we do ship to New Zealand, in fact we ship our products worldwide.  Recent shipments have been sent to United Kingdom, Spain Italy, Germany, Norway, Denmark, New Zealand, Australia, Japan, Canada Brazil and many other countries.

Q. I am trying to import the HiTechnic sensor programming block into the Mindstorms software but there is no option under the tools menu of "Block Import and
Export Wizard..."?
A. If this option does not appear then you must download and install the LEGO "Dynamic Block Update".  This software update is available from
