FIRST Tech Challenge 2012 / 2013 Game: Ring It Up!

The IR Beacon for the FTC Ring It Up! game generates Infrared (IR) signals to assist in locating the rack column for earning the Peg Score Bonus. The IR Beacon signals can be detected with the HiTechnic IRSeeker V2 sensor. For more details refer to the FTC Ring It Up! Game Manual.

The IR Beacon transmits a 1200Hz square wave signal. The HiTechnic IRSeeker V2 is "tuned" to receive this signal and filter out other interfering signals so your robot can determine the exact position of the beacon with minimal interference from sunlight and other light sources.

Note: This beacon is what the FTC Game Manual refers to as a Master beacon.
