Welcome 2011/2012 FTC Teams! The FTC Bowled Over! game makes use of several HiTechnic products. On the field there are two IR Beacons to help your robot locate the corners of the field. To get the direction to this signal you can use the IRSeeker V2 sensor which will give you a direction value as well signal strength information about the IR source. This year's game also includes balls with hidden magnets. To detect these use the Magnetic Sensor. |

HiTechnic Barometric SensorTrack your environment with the new HiTechnic Barometric Sensor. Create a weather station or program your own aircraft style altimeter with the HiTechnic Barometric Sensor. The Barometric Sensor is a sensitive barometer that measures atmospheric pressure as well as air temperature. The extended features of the Barometric Sensor NXT-G programming block, available on the HiTechnic Downloads page, make it easy to develop your own programs to display and track changes in barometric pressure, temperature and altitude. Use the NXT to data log the elevation as you take a car ride and create a profile showing the hills and valleys along your journey. The Altimeter program looks like a real aircraft altimeter displaying the current altitude. Get the current altimeter setting of your nearest airport from an online aviation weather website and enter it as your altimeter setting. This NXT screen display shows an altitude of 1,810 feet and an altimeter setting of 29.94 inches of mercury. For more details visit the Barometric Sensor product page or the blog post on the Altimeter program. |

NEW HiTechnic IR RC KartCheckout the latest HiTechnic model, the IR RC Kart. This remote controlled 'car' uses go-kart inspired steering to avoid using a differential. The model is buildable with either a LEGO Mindstorms 1.0 or 2.0 set and uses the HiTechnic IR Receiver together with a LEGO Power Functions Remote. Download building instructions and NXT-G program for either LEGO Mindstorms 1.0 or 2.0. Uses the new HiTechnic Motor PID Block which takes care of the steering motor control. With this block the whole program is just 5 blocks and a loop. |

HiTechnic Sensor MultiplexerThe HiTechnic Sensor Multiplexer extends your NXT and adds extra functionality by allowing up to 4 sensors to be connected to one NXT sensor port. Use any combination of LEGO and HiTechnic sensors to expand your robot's sensor capabilities and leave other sensor ports to connect TETRIX controllers and other devices. Connect more than one HiTechnic Sensor Multiplexer for more connectivity. Programming support for LabVIEW 2009 and RobotC with NXT-G available soon. More information is available on the Products page. |
